Background
Aditya’s journey began in a quiet village in Maharashtra—a place with limited schools but no shortage of support from the community. Born into a humble household, his early education was in a CBSE school, but due to infrastructure limitations, he had to switch to the state board after class 10. Life in the village shaped his values. His neighbors, local shopkeepers, and his retired-principal father all had a hand in shaping the grounded and observant personality he carries today.
A Spark from the Kargil War
Everything changed when a maths teacher introduced young Aditya to a retired Army Captain from the Kargil War. That one meeting sparked something powerful—a calling to join the armed forces. From an average student, he became focused. He cracked NDA twice through self-preparation and later scored 96 percentile in MHT-CET, getting admission into PICT, Pune—one of Maharashtra’s best engineering colleges. But his heart remained loyal to his dream.
Setbacks and New Directions
In 2021, he appeared for his first SSB. The result? Conferenced out. It was a crushing blow. His father suggested continuing with engineering—and Aditya agreed. But rather than see it as a failure, he took it as an opportunity to grow. He wasn't very active in extra-curriculars and his English was weak due to his schooling background. So, he joined the MUN club, took up content creation, and eventually became the Director General of the club. His English improved, his confidence soared, and his personality started shining. He also cracked CDS in his final year, despite juggling SSB attempts and not seriously considering placements.
Finding His Tribe at R2R
After four failed attempts, Aditya joined R2R in May. There, everything changed. He found a supportive community : friends working jobs but still practicing late at night with him. The motivation and structure of R2R helped him stay consistent. Neha Ma’am helped him understand how to write relatable, real psych stories. She taught him to include micro-actions, making his answers personal and impactful.
In GTO, he was always naturally expressive and calm, a strong performer. During interviews, he learned a concept called “Shadow Personality”, which taught him to embrace his past instead of running from it. He started analyzing and refining his answers more deeply. Listening to the experiences of other aspirants during interactive classes enriched his learning—especially those from NCC and repeaters.
What Made This Attempt Different?
“Just one word—self-belief.”
This time, he felt prepared. Confident. Assured. He received an “All the best” message from Jitesh Sir before his SSB and that one line reminded him—someone believes in me. He went in without fear. He focused on execution, not desperation. And this time, he got recommended.
Advice to Fellow Aspirants
Aditya’s advice is powerful yet simple:“Whether it’s your 1st attempt or your 20th, go in with the same craze.Believe in yourself, analyze your performance, manage your time well, and never stop growing.”
Facing the Interview Panel with Courage
His final SSB had an intimidating twist—the president himself was taking his interview. He was nervous, but went in with a calm and clear mindset.
He focused on not leaving open-ended responses, stayed composed in GTO, and showed that as a repeater, he had grown. And the results? His first recommendation.
