Every SSB aspirant carries a dream, but only a few know how to turn that dream into a structured journey. Rahul’s story is one such journey—raw, real, and deeply relatable to anyone who has ever felt stuck, overwhelmed, or one step away from giving up.
Rahul hails from Kaithal, Haryana. His early schooling happened in a small government school in his village—an environment very different from what most candidates imagine when they think of SSB competitions. In 2013, he moved to Kaithal city and completed his 9th to 12th from RKC Public School, after which he pursued LLB from Chandigarh University, Mohali.
By 2023, Rahul was a law graduate, practicing at the Punjab and Haryana High Court. On paper, his career was settled. But his heart was still somewhere else.

“Every dream looks impossible until the day you decide to give it the right direction.”
A Grandfather’s Legacy
Rahul’s dream wasn’t born out of randomness. His grandfather—a Burma War Veteran—was the spark. Their conversations weren’t just stories; they were lessons in courage, service, and the deep sense of purpose that comes from wearing the uniform.
For Rahul, joining the armed forces wasn’t just a career choice—it was a continuation of his grandfather’s journey. A tribute to the man who shaped his values.

The Reality Check
Like every sincere aspirant, Rahul started preparing with determination. He believed he had the qualities required—but six attempts later, he realised he was stuck in a loop of repeating the same preparation without real growth.
His sixth attempt—the last attempt for JAG entry—hit him differently.
He realised: “I’m practicing, but not progressing.”
He wasn’t lacking effort.
He was lacking the right direction.
When Rahul Found R2R
Before joining R2R, Rahul’s understanding of Psych, GTO, and Interview was—his own words—superficial. He didn’t know what he didn’t know.
At R2R, things changed.
He finally understood how mindset, OLQs, and structured practice bring real improvement.
He began to analyse the why behind every response, not just what to write.
The personalised feedback in Psych, the clarity in GTO, and the precise corrections in Interview helped him break patterns he didn’t even know he was stuck in.
This wasn’t just preparation.
It was transformation.

Why Law? Why JAG?
Rahul started preparing for law in class 12th because he had a slight interest in the field, and simultaneously prepared for Airmen Y Group. But he kept missing the cutoff by the smallest margins—0.25 or 0.75 marks—again and again.
But destiny had another plan.
When he discovered that JAG allows candidates to apply till 27, it gave him a long runway to chase his dream. He completed law and kept moving forward—again, again, and again—until the final attempt where everything finally aligned.
What Did He Do Differently This Time?
In his sixth attempt, Rahul reinvented himself. He introspected deeply. He acknowledged his weak areas.
Psych was one of his biggest challenges.
Certain aspects of his Interview needed refinement.
With R2R’s help, he rebuilt these parts of his personality from the ground up—carefully, consciously, consistently.
Smart work became his mantra.“Focus on those areas which create the highest impact on your performance." —Rahul’s advice to aspirants

The Hardest Part? Communication.
Rahul openly admits that English was his biggest hurdle. Because of his rural schooling background, he struggled to express himself in English, especially during SSB tasks that demanded clarity and confidence.
He once appeared for AFSB Varanasi where, apart from his personal details, he couldn’t fill the PIQ because he couldn’t translate his achievements to English.
That moment shook him. Deeply.
But instead of giving up, he used it as fuel.
He worked relentlessly on his speaking and writing skills.
And slowly, everything changed.
Rahul’s Reflection
Rahul describes his SSB journey as a journey of self-awareness:
“The SSB preparation journey taught me so much about myself and how to look at life from different perspectives. I learned how to develop a good personality.”
This journey didn’t just make him a recommended candidate.
It made him a better version of himself.

A Message to Every Aspirant
Rahul’s story is not about overnight success.
It’s about:
He says that R2R’s crisp and focused guidance helped him identify the exact areas that required improvement and gave him the structure to work on them.
His journey is proof that:
👉 You don’t need a perfect background
👉 You don’t need flawless English
👉 You don’t need extraordinary talent
You only need:
clarity, consistency, and a mentor who understands the journey better than you.
If Rahul can rise from a small village school to becoming a JAG recommended candidate in his last attempt—so can you.
Sometimes all you need…
is the right push in the right direction.
