      • This marks a decline from previous years: 39 in 2023, 40 in 2022.

      • Among neighbouring countries: Pakistan ranked worse (≈135), Sri Lanka (≈121), and Bangladesh (≈149). China was better placed at 76.

      • A total of 148 countries have either stagnated or worsened since 2012.

      • Least corrupt nations include Denmark (≈90/100), Finland, Singapore, New Zealand, and others.
      • Most corrupt countries include South Sudan, Somalia, Venezuela, and Syria.
