After getting screened out in first attempt, Aman yadav from gurugram got recommeded in the second attempt - Learn how

Some journeys don’t begin with a uniform, they begin with a feeling.
A quiet, persistent pull toward a life larger than yourself. For Aman Yadav, that feeling began long before he ever stepped into an SSB centre.

“The moment you understand what SSB truly demands, the journey stops feeling difficult and starts feeling possible.”

Growing up with the Olive Green Spirit

Aman comes from Gurgaon, but like many defence kids, he has lived everywhere and nowhere at the same time.
With his father serving in the Indian Coast Guard, shifting KVs and adapting to new environments became a part of life.

Along the way, one thing stayed constant—
his fascination for the adventurous and disciplined life he saw at home.

Even after he took a drop year and got into NIT Goa, that spark never left. The urge to lead, explore, and serve kept calling louder.

The First Attempt: A Tough Lesson in Bhopal

Like many aspirants, Aman walked into his first NDA attempt at Bhopal with hope and confidence.

But he got screened out.

For some, that moment becomes the end.
For Aman, it became the beginning of doing things right.

When Realisation Meets the Right Guidance

Before joining any classes, Aman believed what most aspirants do:

  • “TAT and PPDT are basically the same.”
  • “WAT is just writing simple sentences.”
  • “Narration will somehow work out.”
  • “GTO? I’ll speak when I feel confident.”

But his first attempt showed him a reality many discover late—
SSB isn’t about luck. It’s about clarity.

That’s when he joined the R2R Screen-In and Psychology Batch, and everything changed.

Understanding SSB the Way Assessors Want It

In R2R’s classes, Aman learned nuances he had never even thought about:

 1. The real difference between TAT & PPDT

Not just “story writing”—but perception, structure, and projection.

 2. How WAT goes beyond simple word meaning

How to reflect your personality through your responses.

 3. How to tackle SRT with both speed and clarity

 4. How to write an SDT that actually stands out

It wasn’t just theory.
There was feedback, correction, and introspection in every class.

Aman says that within 4–5 days, his narration went from fumbling to flawless.
(Anyone who has ever struggled with narration knows how big this is.)

Neha ma’am and Sachin sir helped him understand story structure, idea generation, and how to present thoughts confidently.

Even the OIR sheets given in the batch gave him an advantage in screening.

Facing His Biggest Fear: GTO

Among all SSB stages, GTO scared him the most.

Not because he lacked ideas—
but because he feared his ideas might be wrong.

This hesitation is something almost every aspirant feels but rarely talks about.

Through introspection, practice, and guidance, Aman slowly let go of this fear.
He learned that SSB doesn’t want perfect ideas;it wants participation, reasoning, and teamwork. The day he stopped holding back…
things started falling into place.

Second Attempt. Same Candidate. Completely Different Clarity.

From Aman to You: A Subtle Message for Every Aspirant

Aman openly says that from his experience,
R2R is the perfect place for Screen-In and Psych.

Why?

Because he didn’t just prepare—
he understood himself better.

The free R2R interview workshops also helped him introspect and structure his self-awareness.

And that’s what made him the candidate the board was looking for.

If You’re an Aspirant Reading This…

Aman’s journey isn’t just his success.
It’s a reminder that:

  • You don’t need to be extraordinary to get recommended.
  • You just need the right direction at the right time.
  • sometimes, one structured batch is all it takes to bring out what’s already inside you.

If his journey sparks even a little curiosity in your mind about how he improved so fast,
then maybe it’s time to explore what helped him get there.

And you already know where he found that clarity.
