— Aman Chauhan
From Uttarakhand to a Civil Engineer’s Life
Aman hails from Tehri Garhwal, Uttarakhand. Born in Delhi, he later moved to Dehradun with his family when his father went abroad. His schooling—10th and 12th—was completed in Dehradun, after which he pursued Civil Engineering from GBPIET, Pauri Garhwal.
Post-graduation, Aman worked in Gurugram starting in 2022. Even while working full-time for three years, his heart remained committed to one dream—joining the armed forces.
Discovering the Dream
Initially, Aman had no awareness about the armed forces or its entries. He gave his first NDA attempt “just for trial” and didn’t even bother checking the result because he knew he wasn’t prepared. But college changed everything. Discussions with friends about defence as a career made him realize something important: the life he wanted to live was exactly what the armed forces offered. From that moment, there was no looking back. He kept attempting SSBs—eight failures later, he still didn’t give up. His moment of success finally came in the 9th attempt.
Transformation After Joining R2R
Working a full-time job meant offline coaching wasn’t an option. Aman stumbled upon R2R through its Telegram group, where useful preparation material caught his attention. He later decided to join the full course for structured learning and one-on-one mentorship. Why R2R?
What He Did Differently in His 9th Attempt
Aman focused on psychology. Shashank Sir’s Demand of the Picture Concept helped him write stories that reflected real, relatable actions rather than forced “ideal candidate” stories.
“Earlier, I was trying to act like the candidate assessors wanted to see. Now, I learned to just be myself."
He also improved his interviews by analyzing his answers, including micro-actions, and staying consistent in his responses.
The Mindset Shift
Aman’s biggest realization was simple yet powerful:
His Message to Fellow Aspirants
“Maintain honesty. Don’t try to fake it. The assessors want to recommend you; just let them see the real you." He also strongly recommends finding the right guidance and community early on, something he found at R2R.
